On June 14 local time, Han Jing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Zambia, paid his first inspection visit to Qiancang Farm operated by Zhong’an Huali in Zambia. He conducted an on-site tour of the livestock and poultry breeding as well as open-air vegetable planting operations, extended condolences to frontline Chinese and Zambian staff of Huali, and commended the enterprise for its down-to-earth commitment to operating businesses rooted in Africa, empowering local livelihoods and creating local jobs.

As one of the pioneering Anhui private enterprises to "go global" for overseas construction, Zhong’an Huali runs Qiancang Farm in Zambia as a key base under the Group’s overseas agricultural division. Having operated in Zambia for years, the farm adheres to localized management and actively integrates into local communities. Through genuine industrial development, it improves local people’s well-being, boosts the regional economy, and consolidates the grassroots foundation of China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
Overseas agricultural operations generally face multiple challenges including unstable water and power supply, insufficient feed supply and livestock disease prevention and control. Over three years, the farm has built a local corn straw purchasing network and set up an in-house small-scale feed processing system. All vaccines are sourced through official compliant channels from China, resulting in two consecutive years without major animal disease outbreaks. At present, the pig breeding zone has steadily supplied fresh pork to surrounding communities for more than 18 months, while the layer chicken base maintains a stable egg production rate. The open-air vegetable base grows leeks, water spinach and cucumbers, which are in short supply on local markets, forming an integrated planting and breeding system focused on securing stable food supply for local residents.
In addition, the farm hires local laborers and prioritizes cultivating local talent, enabling local employees to master full sets of professional breeding skills — shifting its model from merely recruiting local workers to training local skilled successors.During the inspection, Ambassador Han Jing walked through pigsties, chicken coops and vegetable plots, closely examining breeding housing conditions, feed troughs, drinking water pipelines and litter bedding on the ground. He chatted with a local employee who had worked at the farm for three years about his technical learning progress and sampled fresh cucumbers grown on-site.

Ambassador Han Jing spoke highly of the farm’s development approach tailored to local conditions and suggested further upgrading production conditions with low-cost facilities such as simple sunshade nets and rainwater collection systems. He also fully recognized Huali Group’s dedication to developing people’s livelihood industries based in local communities, remarking: “A company’s strength cannot be measured by how expensive equipment it invests in, but by its capacity to deliver solid results amid harsh operating conditions.” He noted that the farm has blazed a pragmatic and viable path for Chinese-funded enterprises investing in agriculture overseas.
